If you laptop is being repaired, please keep the following things in mind.
You will be provided a loaner from CTEC with the standard software from CTEC (Office, Teams, Chrome, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc), If you need a special software, like SOLIDWORKS or software for a club, please let us know before you pick up the loaner.

In the repair process, reinstalling the operating system may be a diagnostic step. This means you may lose files (documents, pictures, and videos) stored on your laptop. Please make sure all your your files are stored in Google Drive. Please click here for some info from Google on how to do that.
If the laptop damage is deemed to be outside of the limited hardware warranty, the work will be claimed through the Complete Care warranty. There is only one incident per year allowed on that warranty. That means that you may incur repair costs if the laptop is damaged twice in the same contract year.

CTEC policy for all computers with malicious software is a complete wipe and restore of the computer. This is why it is important to keep all your files backed up on your Google Drive. If you get a report your computer has a virus, it is important to turn it off and turn it in to the main office for wipe and restore. There is loaners available while we get your laptop up and running again.
